Trisha Mapacpac

Gender Impact Specialist

VisionFund

Trisha Mapacpac is the Gender Impact Specialist for VisionFund, the financial inclusion subsidiary of World Vision. The organisation is dedicated to helping children, families, and communities overcome poverty and injustice. It provides affordable loans, savings, insurance, and financial education to more than 1.1 million individuals in 23 countries.

Trisha is the organisation’s first and current global lead for gender equality and social inclusion (GESI). She leads the impact measurement and reporting on GESI and women’s economic empowerment, and drives the integration of these dimensions across the organisation’s global strategy, philanthropy and grant fundraising and management, and programming.

Before joining VisionFund, she served as the lead specialist for gender mainstreaming at the Philippine government’s national agency for research and development in agriculture and natural resources. As part of the agency’s inaugural Gender and Development Unit, she played a key role in advancing the historic inclusion of gender and development as a priority area in the national research agenda of the above sectors. In this role, she was responsible for embedding gender across institutional programming and strategy, including designing and facilitating a country-wide training on gender analysis and gender statistics for around 500 Filipino science and technology researchers.

Trisha remains actively engaged in the Philippine context through volunteer initiatives supporting individuals and communities affected by forced displacement, gender-based violence, and human rights violations.
