Trisha Mapacpac is the Gender Impact Specialist for VisionFund, the financial inclusion subsidiary of World Vision. The organisation is dedicated to helping children, families, and communities overcome poverty and injustice. It provides affordable loans, savings, insurance, and financial education to more than 1.1 million individuals in 23 countries.
Trisha is the organisation’s first and current global lead for gender equality and social inclusion (GESI). She leads the impact measurement and reporting on GESI and women’s economic empowerment, and supports the integration of these dimensions across the organisation’s strategy, philanthropy and grants fundraising and management, and programming.
Before joining VisionFund, Trisha served as the lead staff for gender mainstreaming at the Philippine government’s national agency for research and development in agriculture and natural resources. She contributed towards amending the national research agenda of these sectors to include gender and development as a priority area. She also supported the embedding of gender and development principles across institutional policy and programming, including the development and facilitation of a free training on gender analysis and gender statistics for more than 500 Filipino researchers.
Trisha remains actively engaged in the Philippine context through volunteering with initiatives that support women affected by gender-based violence and human rights violations, as well as refugees rebuilding their lives in the country.
