Sara Gwynn

Head of Policy and Advocacy

Motivation

After completing a physics degree and working in academic publishing, Sara has worked in the international development field for over 20 years.

Following time as a researcher and tutor, in 2001 she started work with INASP, an NGO that supports people in Africa, Asia, the CIS, Eastern Europe and Latin America to produce, share and use research and knowledge to transform lives. Working initially as a training officer, she created and facilitated workshops before becoming Project Coordinator, with a focus on participatory M&E, and then Director of Programmes and Acting Executive Director.

After leaving them in 2011, Sara set up a social enterprise, volunteered as a trustee, co-designed a metamorphic bike pannier, and worked as a consultant for a wide variety of NGOs, voluntary sector organisations, businesses and government bodies. Her work has involved strategy development, capacity development, data collation and analysis, research, monitoring, evaluation and learning, writing and editing.
