With a PhD in Sustainable Water and Energy Technologies, Dr. Shatat is a highly skilled Water and Sanitation specialist, Team leader, Programme Manager and Research Academic Professor with over 22 years of experience in water sanitation, solar energy, environmental issues, project management, partner management, consulting services, community mobilisation, technical WASH design, and supervision of Water and Sanitation programs in addition to monitoring and evaluation of a variety of humanitarian and development projects funded by various donors such as USAID, World bank, DFID, European Union, SIDA and KFW. He received his PhD in Sustainable Water and Energy Technologies (University of Nottingham, UK) and his MSc in Environmental Engineering (University of Durham, UK), Dr. Shatat has also supervised and trained over 100 staff and engineers in technical WASH design and quality monitoring, as well as solar pumping and humanitarian sphere core standards. With a strong academic background, Dr. Shatat has conducted research to help design and deliver complex technical projects worth up to $80 million. Further, Dr. Shatat is internationally recognized for his engineering and WASH expertise, and has been published in several academic journals and received the National Energy Globe Award as a UK national winner in 2015. He also received the Global Water Award in Dubai UAE 2020.
