Alexandra Newlands is a global civil society leader with more than 15 years of experience advancing health, nutrition, gender equality, children and youth participation, and sustainable development. As Head of the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Civil Society Network Secretariat, she leads a global network of over 5,000 civil society organisations across more than 60 countries, working to end malnutrition in all its forms through partnership strengthening, advocacy, accountability and locally led action.
A dual French-British national based in London with her husband and two children, Alexandra has held policy, advocacy, partnership strengthening and leadership roles across international NGOs, including Girls Not Brides and World Vision. She is recognised for building high-impact partnerships between civil society, governments, donors and multilateral institutions, and for championing the meaningful inclusion of women, young people and communities in global decision-making. Fluent in English, French and Spanish, she is a passionate advocate for equitable and sustainable solutions that improve nutrition and health outcomes worldwide.
