Caroline Nursey

BBC Media Action

Since March 2009, Caroline Nursey has been Executive Director of BBC Media Action, the BBC's international development charity, transforming lives through media. Caroline spent the previous seven years at Oxfam GB, where she held a number of Director-level roles based in Oxford and various parts of Africa. Caroline led the World University Service for six years, and before that was Head of Overseas Projects at Y Care International. She has a further 10 years experience in education, mostly with VSO in Tanzania, Ghana and the UK.

Caroline holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of London, a Diploma in Management from the Open University and a Bachelors in History from University College London.

Caroline was working at Y Care when the idea of "Bond" emerged and was part of a small group that drafted its constitution. She is delighted to have seen how it has grown over the last twenty years to serve the whole sector, and is delighted to have been elected to its Board. Caroline is currently also a trustee of the Crown Agents Foundation and Woodbrooke Quaker Study Centre and has served on a number of Boards in the past.
