Bond statement in response to Israel’s deregistration of 37 INGOs working in Gaza and the West Bank
Responding to Israel’s recent registration measures, in which 37 international NGOs working in Gaza and the West Bank are at risk of being deregistered and hence forced to close humanitarian operations, Bond – the UK network for NGOs working in international development – said:
“News that INGOs may be forced to close humanitarian operations in Gaza and the West Bank would have a devastating impact on access to essential services for millions of Palestinians. We join calls by the UK government and international partners to demand the immediate reversal of this decision.
At this critical moment, amid harsh weather conditions and as levels of famine remain acute in large parts of Gaza, civilians urgently require an increased and unimpeded flow of humanitarian assistance – including healthcare, water and sanitation, and nutrition – to prevent unnecessary suffering and further loss of life.
INGOs are integral to the humanitarian response in Gaza and the West Bank, and must be allowed to operate safely, independently, and without restriction.”
Notes to editors:
- On 30 December 2025, 37 INGOs received official notification that their registrations would expire on 31 December 2025. This triggers a 60-day period after which INGOs would be required to cease operations in Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
