Leonora Borg

Leonora is a safeguarding and protection specialist with over fifteen years’ experience in the UK and internationally, including East and South Africa, India, South America, and Europe. She has worked directly with children and families, as well as having a breadth of experience across the sectors, at senior and grassroots levels. Leonora regularly supports organizations with training and capacity building, including with NGOs, trustee boards and children and families. She conducts participatory monitoring and evaluation with children and the protection workforce; and develops and supports the implementation of practicable policy and guidance, particularly with vulnerable groups.

Leonora has experience working with complex families, street-connected children, children with disabilities and children in sport, as well as adults at risk. She also works closely with businesses to support the development of robust corporate responsibility programmes that safeguard children and promote sustainable changes.

Leonora’s recent work includes advising the government of Sierra Leone on developing a positive parenting programme; safeguarding training of Children’s Investment Fund Foundation UK, Africa and Asia offices; case management for sport; policy review for Lumos, Catholic Relief Services, Anti-Slavery International, British Rowing and the School for Social Entrepreneurs. She is a Senior Associate with Maestral International and Director of Leonora Borg Ltd.
