Julia is ActionAid UK’s Senior Girls Rights Technical Specialist championing the voices and leadership of girls globally. She collaborates across ActionAid’s international federation and with women’s rights organizations worldwide to support girls rights work. Specifically, she specializes on the power and impact of girl led research and action, given her keen interest in Feminist
Participatory Action Research methods, as well as a passion for girls’ rights and leadership. Through both programmatic and advocacy experience, she amplifies the demands and solutions articulated by girl activists themselves, as well as ensuring their voices reach decision-makers.
Julia’s career has spanned the disability, development, and humanitarian sectors, where she built expertise in girls’ rights. Before entering the field, she completed her master’s at LSE in Gender, Development and Globalisation, where her thesis applied feminist and decolonial frameworks to critically examine the UK government’s Girls’ Education Challenge.
