Janet Clark is a PhD researcher at the Centre for Global Development at Northumbria University. Her research interests span volunteering, development, inequality, gender and social justice. Her current work explores the changing relationships between volunteering and development as ideas and practices have been challenged by the Covid-19 pandemic, the climate emergency, decolonisation and reduced aid budgets. Prior to this she has worked for both volunteering and peacebuilding organisations in the development sector.
