Basic Needs UK in Uganda

Florence has over 10 years of experience working with both local and international NGOs. She is currently working with BasicNeeds UK in Uganda (BNUU) a locally managed organisation. BNUU has 4 years experience in delivering mental health programmes in Northern Uganda. In the last four years, it has been implementing a community mental health project in four sub-counties in Agago District, which has engaged over 6,500 community members (3,856 persons with mental disorders and their family members)

INGOs need to trust local partners. They need to be adaptable and flexible to the specific needs in each context and with each partner they work with, being clear about which areas the INGO can add value.
