Aleema Shivji is passionate about building a more inclusive, just and equitable world through fighting inequality and changing systems. She has over 25 years of strategic and operational experience in the public and not-for-profit sectors. Her experience both within and alongside organisations includes leading teams and organisations through deep transformation, developing and reviewing strategies and translating them into day to day practices and ways of working, and stewarding ecosystems of actors. She has led work on shifting power, anti-racism and decolonising, translating ambitious value-driven strategies into tangible change. While at Comic Relief she led the translation of their shifting power commitment into concrete changes to their funding practice, and at Oxfam GB, she led an ambitious transformation programme to decolonise their impact work and co-sponsored their anti-racism work. She’s also the Co-Chair of Peace Direct.
