Using research for real impact

Windsor Room
Tuesday, March 19, 2019 - 13:45 to 14:45

Research plays a critical role in contributing to development and humanitarian practice across sectors, but many INGOs are still working out how research can better contribute to their mission.

This session explores the ways that INGOs can engage with research, from accessing and adapting existing research to commissioning and collaborating on new research, as well as conducting research in-house and providing research training. You’ll hear about different ways to organise and manage research activities in relation to organisation structures and strategies, and how to establish and sustain research relationships (including building research capacity and developing research cultures).

This session is for: INGO managers, senior leaders and those working with research or evidence. INGO partners who want to understand the research potential of INGOs might also find it helpful.
