How can global cooperation support local activism?

Friday, May 28, 2021 - 11:30 to 12:15

North-East Affected Area Development Society (NEADS) is a volunteer-centered grassroots organisation addressing poverty and social exclusion by supporting marginalised communities to participate in development in India.

In this session, speakers from NEADS discuss how development aggressions happening in India’s north-east region, are leading to exploitation of indigenous peoples rights, grabbing in community’s land, triggering force displacement, corporatisation in development and in reaction how affected people and organisations are trying to build a range of resistance and raising voices for development justice in the region.

This session is part of the Bond Confererence’s Listen programme, which was devised by practitioners and thought leaders from lower- and middle-income countries.  Book your place now.
