Zoe Abrahamson

Sector Transformation Manager

Bond

Zoe Abrahamson is Bond’s Sector Transformation Manager. She leads Bond’s work transforming the UK international development sector. This challenges the sector to reflect on how it operates, to decolonise development so that it is transformed to a more equitable and fair system, putting power into the hands of communities.

Her background is in funding, supporting organisations and funders to transform traditional funding models. She regularly speaks with funders, advising them on how they can best support civil society by designing equitable funding mechanisms and building positive relationships with the communities that they serve.

Since joining Bond she piloted Bond’s responsible fundraising series, taking participants on a journey to change how they fundraise. She was part of the team developing a Guide to support NGOs to Becoming locally led as an anti-racist practice and stories of what a good locally led funder looks like. She sat on the advisory board for the Nesta research into third sector and start up collaborations. Most recently she has developed case studies on how generating an income can help an INGO become more locally led and helped set up the Bond Advisory group who are feeding into Bond’s locally led work and holding them to account.

Before joining Bond, Zoe worked in programme development at Plan International UK, as a Programme Manager at Target TB, in business development at Itad a monitoring and evaluation consultancy, and in programme coordination at Common Purpose a leadership charity and Forum for the Future.
