Sarah Sanyahumbi

Deputy director, Europe

Sarah has over 23 years working for the UK government and the European Commission, 13 of these in developing countries in Asia and Africa. She has led British government (DFID) country offices in Indonesia, Nepal and Malawi to deliver high quality development programmes and manage complex crises (including rapid onset disasters and long term fragility).

She is currently working on Brexit: the impact for DFID of the UK leaving the EU, and the UK's future relationship with the EU after exit, as well as overseeing the UK's current contribution to the EU's development programmes. She is also the UK's alternate director at the European Investment Bank focussed on the EIB's external lending portfolio.
