Sara has over ten years of experience supporting civil society organisations across East and West Africa, East, South and Central Asia and Latin America. At Saferworld, she leads the delivery of the organisational strategy on ‘locally-led approaches’ in collaboration with Saferworlds partner organisations. She is responsible for the revision of programming and partnership approaches within Saferworld’s international programmes teams to ensure the work responds to the context needs and reflects the long-term vision of civil society.

Her role includes gathering evidence for learning and further improving the quality of Saferworld’s partnerships and internal systems. Her approach responds to principles of decoloniality, power sharing and justice. Having previously worked for Conciliation Resources and Peace Direct, Sara has a strong peacebuilding background.
