Ronald Siebes was appointed deputy head Civil Society Division of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs in August 2017. He has worked at the ministry in different positions, as head of the Education and Research Division and as a senior policy adviser in the areas of education, aid effectiveness and civil society.
In his capacity as education adviser, he represented the Netherlands in the Global Partnership for Education as chair of the Country Grants and Performance Committee and in the Education for All Fast Track Initiative, as co-chair and member of the steering committee. He worked as a senior education adviser at the Netherlands Embassy in La Paz, Bolivia and was involved as a steering group member in the preparation of the Education for All World Conference in Dakar, 2000.
Ronald is a qualified senior policy advisor with more than 25 years of experience in the field of education, civil society and development. Before joining the Ministry he worked for UNESCO in the Ministry of Education Guatemala (1990-1995) and for the Eduardo Mondlane Foundation with Mozambique and Angola (1988-1990).
