Richard is a Director of specialist strategy and communications firm Inspiris, which works at the interface of business and development, and of Business Fights Poverty, the world's largest network of practitioners harnessing business for social impact, supported by a Lead Group of twelve multinational companies, DFID and CDC.

Richard specialises in bringing together businesses, donors, governments and civil society organisations to develop platforms, partnerships and solutions that enable businesses to advance inclusive business approaches, integrate responsible business practices, maintain trust and enhance development impact; and development partners to harness business innovation and resources. Areas of expertise include enterprise development, water stewardship, food and nutrition, partnership models, the Post-2015 development agenda, and regional integration and trade in Africa.

He advises some of the world’s leading business and development organisations, including Coca-Cola, SABMiller, Anglo American, Citigroup, International Finance Corporation (IFC), UK Department for International Development (DFID), Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) and Better Cotton Initiative (BCI).
