Professor Giles Mohan is director of The Open University’s Research Network in International Development and Inclusive Innovation. Giles’s areas of expertise include participatory development and citizenship, the role of China in Africa and the developmental potential of the African diaspora. One of his current projects is exploring the role of Chinese National Oil Companies in Ghana, Angola and Sudan, and he recently secured funding from the Global Challenge Research Fund for a ‘Migration for inclusive African growth’ network.
Giles has been an academic consultant for OXFAM, World Vision, The British Council, Rockefeller Foundation, Comic Relief, Sports Relief and the BBC.
