To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 10 years’ experience in the humanitarian/development sector, several of which demonstrates a continued progress of business development
  • Strategic approach to partnership management, with excellent networking skills
  • A proven track record devising and implementing resource mobilisation strategies
  • Pro-active approach with great communication skills
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of DFID, UK funding mechanisms and priorities of those in Europe and beyond
  • Willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice
  • Eligibility to work in the UK

With dual reporting to GOAL’s CEO and Global Director of Funding and Business Development, you will lead GOAL’s funding and partnership strategy in the United Kingdom (UK). GOAL has adopted an ambitious funding strategy that seeks to develop existing and build more strategic partnerships with bilateral and multilateral donor agencies within the UK market to increase their income, influence, and programmatic impact. These partnerships will include institutional donors along with trusts, foundations and alternative donors.

The key responsibilities of the role will be:

  • Represent GOAL to donors, other International actors and stakeholders, particularly in the UK; lead on development of relationships and funding opportunities with partners globally.
  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive engagement strategy with DFID and other partners globally developing strong relationships on behalf of GOAL.
  • Work closely with GOALs program teams on various business development activities, including monitoring and reporting on progress and achievements of programmatic objectives
  • Guide and support GOAL’s positioning with partners or consortia including research and academic institutions, US Development Consultants and private sector enterprises.
