Closing date: 28 June 2018
Job Type: Paid
The Programme + Partnerships Manager role is for someone creative, energetic, and driven by a passion for working with and through people to make the biggest difference possible. Our ideal candidate will be curious and decisive, approachable and collaborative, ambitious and organised, and excited to work with people and organisations in unusual and creative ways. This is an integral role within our London team with responsibility for line management, project oversight, fundraising, and partnership development. You will work closely with the Executive Director and global colleagues to achieve our goals.
You might have experience from a variety of sectors but will have a passion for social development and a desire to grow GlobalGiving’s impact. Your skill set should include excellent writing and presentation skills, pragmatic and consultative staff management, and the comfort to be flexible and adaptable to opportunities—every day will be different! This role needs someone who thinks creatively, seizes opportunities, adapts by listening to constituent and sector feedback, and has the confidence to be an external champion for our work.
You will be part of a small but mighty team based in London, with colleagues based in the United States, India, and China. We care about using our time, talents, and energy to change the development system by putting people first. We use technology to connect resources and people globally and nurture social connections formed both online and in person.
GlobalGiving exists to transform aid and philanthropy to accelerate community-led change. We are driven by our values: to never settle, remain always open, commit to wow our clients, and listen, act, learn so we innovate and strive for the best.
The Programme + Partnerships Manager role is all about working with people to deliver relevant and effective programmes that align with our mission and goals. Our current programmes include building the capacity, independence, and sustainability of grassroots charities globally; grant programmes to support smaller organisations; and skilled professional volunteering programmes that benefit charities around the world. We deliver programmes in partnership with others and work closely and collaboratively with partners, company clients, and funders. This role requires creativity while being realistic and practical.
As part of a small team, you’ll need to be comfortable managing and supporting staff as they grow and thrive and taking initiative to step in and deliver where needed to support the wider activities of the organisation. The Programme + Partnerships Manager will work with the UK Executive Director and others across our global team to conceptualise, develop, and propose programmes to funders and collaborators. You’ll be proactive in writing proposals, preparing budgets, and working with people to gain consensus on a programme approach.
