We are looking for an experienced and analytic individual to join us as Partnerships Manager for UK Foundations and Institutions, providing vision and strategic direction within Save the Children UK and influencing a complex network of stakeholders to optimise our engagement with UK Foundations and Institutions.

Our UK and Global Programmes department delivers humanitarian and development programmes, builds partnerships with institutional donors – including governments, multi-laterals and trusts – and drives lasting change. Together, we save children’s lives, fight for their rights and help them fulfil their potential.

As Partnerships Manager you will play a vital role in the Partnership Development Team, seeking to deliver exceptional partnerships, optimising both funding and influence. You will continuously develop and pro-actively drive both Save the Children’s overall UK Trusts and Statutory market strategy and strategies for each donor in the portfolio. In addition you will:

  • Work closely with the UK Programme Funding Team (responsible for proposals and reporting) to ensure materials submitted to donors meet their requirements and priorities
  • Influence Save the Children’s strategic positioning in regards to key partners, donors, and market trends e.g. statutory funding, social finance with an aim to expand strategic collaboration and maximize funding and influence opportunities
  • Provide current and creative analysis, insight, intelligence, and direction on donors and on the general market, including trends, strategies, staff, inter-relationships between donors, and other charities
  • Hold oversight and leadership of SCUK’s overall engagement strategies and key moments (including CEO, Board level) across the portfolio and UK market, actively engaging and representing Save the Children externally
  • Manage existing funder relationships and grants to support growth and oversee high quality funder reporting and communications.

To be successful you will have extensive experience within and knowledge of the UK institutional and Trusts marketing including statutory bodies, particularly in collaborating and securing funding from the market. Entrepreneurial and insightful, you will have the ability to identify opportunities and execute them strongly, using novel approaches or techniques. You will have experience within the UK Charity sector and be educated to degree level or have an equivalent qualification gained through experience. In addition you will have:

  • Experience of influencing and delivering results cross organizationally within a large complex organisation
  • A proven record of accomplishment in partnership building, brokering relationships with partners, and engagement at a senior level
  • In depth knowledge and experience of current thinking and future trends and a thorough understanding of contemporary poverty and child rights issues
  • Good strategic planning skills, in relation to positioning with donors, and in prioritising engagement focus
  • A willingness and ability to travel in the UK
