Organisational Development Officer
Fight for Peace (FFP) is a global youth development NGO that delivers primary, secondary and tertiary level interventions to reduce youth violence. FFP was established in 2000 in the Complexo da Mare favela in Rio de Janeiro as a community-based boxing club targeting young people who were employed by drug trafficking gangs. Today, there are FFP Academies in Rio and London delivering a combat sport-based holistic methodology directly to over 3,000 young people annually.
Fight for Peace International (FFPI) was founded in 2010 to extend our impact beyond Rio and London. FFPI’s strategic focus is to share FFP’s methodology and buildn partnerships in order to scale responses to youth crime and violence.
Description of the role
This is an exciting role new role at FFPI. The post holder will play a key part in building the capacity of Alliance members in the UK within the framework of the Big Lottery Fund (BLF) grant by strengthening their business development capacity with the objective of increasing their individual sustainability. Areas of capacity development will include, but are not limited to: governance; strategic planning; financial modelling; financial reporting; developing income streams and fundraising.
Through management of a case load of Alliance members, support will be provided to them in a variety of ways, including face-to-face and individual support, as well as group consultancy. Activities will include i) carrying out organisational health checks; ii) development and roll out of individual business plans; iii) providing remote consultancy to global Alliance members; iv) sharing best practise across Alliance members by participating in online learning platforms; v) developing training content and tools relevant to the identified business development areas of the Alliance members.
