Thomson Reuters Foundation is seeking an experienced and motivated Institutional Partnerships Manager to drive the Foundation’s institutional fundraising strategy securing and managing significant income from a broad range of donors

Thomson Reuters Foundation is seeking an experienced and motivated Institutional Partnerships Manager to drive the Foundation’s institutional fundraising strategy securing and managing significant income from a broad range of donors

The post reports to the Head of Institutional Partnerships.

  • Proactively seek, secure and manage funding from trusts and foundations, implementing the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s ambitious income targets
  • Write high quality proposals, coordinate input from other teams, advise others on proposal writing and grant accountability as necessary
  • Work closely with Head of M&E and operational teams to develop efficient accountability mechanisms for proposed grants. Work with teams to make sure that donors’ expectation are met
  • Coordinate due diligence processes, facilitate donor audits and external evaluations if necessary
  • Working closely with operational teams, Head of M&E, and other functions develop strong working relationships with donors
  • Serve as the key contact for donors and partners. Represent the Foundation in networks, forums, and project consortia as necessary
  • Support the development of annual income and expenditure budgets/forecastes for institutional fundraising. Prepare reports and give presentations on fundraising progress as necessary
  • Keep abreast of the latest donor trends and share knowledge as appropriate across the organisation

Required experience and skills

  • Demonstrable experience of securing and managing large grants from institutional donors
  • Excellent understanding of trust and foundations fundraising
  • Experience of working with DFID, EU, USAID and international organisations in programme and/or funding capacity
  • Experience of working in a client relationship management and project delivery capacity
  • Experience of delivering ambitious income targets and other fundraising objectives
  • Excellent research skills
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • Experience working in an international development organisation
  • Experience of managing relationships and activities remotely

Desirable experience and skills

  • Understanding of journalism and media capacity building
  • Understanding of legal and justice frameworks and processes
  • Strong international networks
