As Humanitarian Health Adviser you will carry out short field assignments to countries in order to support preparedness for epidemics, deploying to the field at short notice in the event of emergencies, ensuring broad spectrum of response strategies for epidemic prone disease: from case management, to timely and pre-emptive vaccination campaigns, to integration with key sectors such as WASH. You will also strengthen public health intelligence at SCUK including supporting country programmes to implement effective ongoing surveillance. You will help with the implementation of early warning, alert and response (EWAR) during an emergency when the national surveillance system is disrupted or underperforming. In addition you will:
To be successful you will have a background in infectious disease prevention and response, with experience of data management, data collection, surveys or outbreak investigations and an ability to design and implement surveillance systems for monitoring epidemics. You will be a strong team player with prior experience working in hardship or challenging environments and a proven capacity to supervise, train and coach staff. In addition you will have:
