We are looking for a Global Human Resources Director to play a critical role in leading global HR initiatives and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement. This role is both strategic and hands-on, providing full cycle HR support.

Relief International (RI) is a leading non-profit organization working in 20 countries to relieve poverty, ensure well-being and advance dignity.  We specialize in fragile settings, responding to natural disasters, humanitarian crises and chronic poverty.

The Global Human Resources Director will work to improve the quality of HR practices in the field through monitoring and promoting best practice management through policy development and implementation, HR compliance, staff care and staff engagement.  You will be a strategic internal consultant and facilitator to our three Regional HRMs and employees in resolving employment and/or performance problems. You will be the HR lead for RI Offices in the UK and Europe. 

Reporting to the VP of Human Resources you will play a critical role in leading global HR initiatives and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.  This role is both strategic and hands-on, providing full cycle HR support. The key priorities for this role include a global remit on HR assurance and standards, safeguarding, staff care and strategic HR business partner to regional and country HR teams.

You will have successfully led and developed HR professionals and bring progressive experience in international HR management with the non-profit INGO sector.  Previously provided global HR team support at a local level as well as engaging at the highest levels of an organisation. Your experience of developing and implementing policy, improving HR standards and coaching managers will be critical to this role.  Together with your understanding of organisational culture will drive strategic implementation of wellness and safeguarding standards. 

Your strong interpersonal skills will be essential in your approach to negotiating with and influencing a range of internal stakeholders across locations, functions, and cultures.  Together with proven experience and skills to deal appropriately with sensitive issues as they arise.
