Fundraising Manager - Gulf Regions
Developing an exciting programme via networking and events, this role will seek to build income in current markets run by the UK (the Gulf, comprising several territories in the GCC) with a new approach to relationship building that leads to income largely from Foundations but takes advantage of opportunities with High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI) and corporates as required.
You will cultivate and research a portfolio of high level trust and individual donors and prospects in the relevant markets, working closely with the Prospect Research team to develop individual cultivation strategies.
You will identify matches between grant makers’ funding priorities and our projects in need of funding, ensuring that funders’ priorities are carefully balanced with ActionAid UK’s needs.
You will also raise awareness of our mission, vision and values to inspire prospective donors to engage by communicating our work persuasively through meetings, presentations, and well targeted funding applications.
Continuously seeking and identifying innovative and creative opportunities, you will deepen and broaden relationships in the region with trust/foundation staff, individual trustees, and donor/ prospective donors and deliver exciting and innovative events programmes in country to help steward existing donors and attract new supporters.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience of building and maintaining relationships with Trusts and Foundations which have resulted in significant gifts and a proven ability to hit financial targets. Knowledge and experience of proposal development and grant management (preferably in the international development/aid sector) is also required.
Innovative and ambitious, you will be target driven with an understanding of the principles of other aspects of high value giving, for example High Net Worth Individuals and/or Corporates. Knowledge of Gulf countries or experience of successfully fundraising in a different market to the UK is also a requirement.
A natural networker, you will have experience of successfully building rapport with individuals to develop relationships with donors, especially those at a senior level in the business world with strong negotiating and influencing skills and the ability to ‘close the deal’
You will be willing to travel overseas and in the UK, working in a culturally sensitive and appropriate way in line with ActionAid’s values and the needs of donors in the region. Language skills relevant to the region would be desirable.
