The HALO Trust’s mission is: “To lead the effort save lives and restore livelihoods for those affected by conflict”. HALO is known for its work to clear landmines but is increasingly involved in the disposal of other explosive ordnance and weapon control.

HALO offers a full training package, so you do not require previous knowledge of landmine clearance or ordnance disposal. We want people who have a sense of adventure, but are responsible and mature. We are looking for leaders who are resilient and self-motivated to command our teams and manage operations.
HALO’s Field Officers work across our programmes in various roles with significant responsibilities, you will need the aptitude to work in dynamic and challenging environments and have management and leadership skills. HALO training will prepare you for one of our programmes, where you could be commanding between 250 to 1000 local employees. You will receive a broad based training, including leadership and management, mine clearance, ordnance disposal and minefield survey as well as other skills such as proposal writing, finance, logistics, security and quality management.
Working for HALO is hugely rewarding. It is also challenging, hard work and involves working and living in remote locations with very basic living conditions. You will be based overseas and, as an international employee you must be flexible and be willing to be posted to any of HALO's programmes.
