Closing date: 2 March 2020
Job Type: Paid
Location: London (E1)
As interim Director of International Programmes & Partnerships, you will provide senior oversight and strategic direction for Y Care’s global programme portfolio. Over the next year we’re focussing on the economic empowerment of disadvantaged young women by launching ‘Y Livelihoods’, creating enterprise and employment among young women in urban poverty overseas, and an innovative new fundraising product, which aims to resource 1 million new opportunities for decent work by 2030.
This is an externally facing, SMT-level role, with responsibility for YCI programme impact and growth with key partner organisations and external relations with key partners for implementation, funding, research and influencing. You will open up new conversations with existing and new partners who share our passion to enable more young people to move into business and out of poverty.
You will also manage, inspire and drive a committed International Programmes team, challenging them through energetic and supportive leadership to become more outward-facing themselves, to become true ‘Partnership Brokers’.
This interim role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced international development, partnerships-focused professional (ideally with experience in women-focussed youth enterprise initiatives, and gender justice), to create real impact with disadvantaged young women and men. The role calls for someone who is naturally externally facing, well networked amongst policy makers and partner organisations and who can provide greater visibility for YCI’s positioning in its sector.
Tenure: 12 months maternity cover, full time or part time, dependent upon experience and suitability.
