IPPF is a global service provider and a leading advocate of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for all. We are a worldwide movement of national organisations working with and for communities and individuals.

 

Based within the Programmes Division in our London Central Office, the Director, Institutional Delivery is responsible for overseeing the delivery of globally managed projects on a range of sexual and reproductive health issues, whilst also contributing to the strategic direction and leadership of the Programmes Division. They will ensure effective delivery of diverse and complex global restricted projects (a portfolio of over $12 million/year) and support data management systems and commodity supplies across IPPF’s work.

 

The Director, Institutional Delivery will manage a team of up to 25 experienced members of staff. They will have extensive experience in large, complex and multi-country restricted projects in developing countries; strong expertise in overseeing multi-disciplinary teams; significant exposure to sexual and reproductive health policies and programmes (with a particular focus on contraception and comprehensive abortion care); experience in developing and writing bids and proposals; and sound technical knowledge/scientific understanding of sexual and reproductive health and research.

 

In order to carry out this role, the successful candidate will be a strong leader with excellent interpersonal skills. They must have excellent staff management skills (including the management of staff working remotely), time management, strong budget management skills and be strong at programme/project management. With a requirement for excellent English written and verbal communication skills, other languages (especially French) would be an asset.

 

A post graduate degree in health, social health or related fields (or equivalent standard of education) is essential, and a Doctorate or equivalent would be desirable. There will be a requirement to travel internationally, the ability to think and operate strategically, work with people from diverse backgrounds and be supportive of a woman’s right to choose and to have access to safe abortion care.
