UK Aid Network
The UK Aid Network (UKAN) was formed in November 2004 to co-ordinate policy and lobbying efforts in calling for more and better aid in 2005, as part of MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY. Throughout 2005 it pooled resources, expertise and strategic thinking on advocating and lobbying for an increase in aid and for improvements in the quality and effectiveness of aid for fighting poverty.
UKAN continues to work together on aid issues and will focus on holding governments to account for the pledges made by the G8 and EU to increase aid, and on pressing for aid that is more poverty-focused, better co-ordinated and aligned to developing countries' needs and priorities. UKAN's work will include follow-up to the World Bank's conditionality review and to the Paris High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness.
