The membership body for UK-based development NGOs. Together we're stronger.
Why join Bond?
By joining Bond, you will add your voice to a dynamic and evolving network. Bond members receive a wide range of benefits, many of which are highlighted below. You can also download our membership leaflet, Uniting for international development (PDF).
Advocacy, representation and campaigning
- Members influence key policy debates and make change happen by taking part in collective advocacy, lobbying and campaigning and by contributing to development policy and sector-wide consultations. This includes representation to the UK Government and the EU in international networks, such as CONCORD, and globally through Global Call to Action Against Poverty (GCAP) and links with other NGO networks.
Networking, sharing information and working together
- Events such as the Bond Annual Conference and AGM (full members have voting rights), funding seminars and sector update meetings give members unique opportunities to network and share information with other NGOs working in international development.
- Bond has a range of member-led groups that work on a variety of key development issues. Groups are a key dynamic behind the network and by networking and working together, members are able to inform practice and bring about change. Participation in groups allows you to keep up to date with latest developments in thinking within the sector, meet and share ideas and concerns, learn from your peers, work together to influence decision-makers and policy-formers, and contribute to government consultations. To find out more, visit our groups pages Groups.
Capacity building and learning
- Our professional, high quality learning and training events provide a variety of opportunities to build skills, network with other organisations and share knowledge and learning, all at competitive rates.
Communications
- Our regular e-bulletins, including sector updates, learning and training news, the latest international development jobs, Europe updates and Global Call to Action for campaigners, keep members informed on a wide range of topics.
- Our bi-monthly publication, The Networker, provides valuable up-to-date and focussed features, policy and news on key issues affecting organisations working in international development.
- Our fortnightly Advertisements and Jobs Bulletin offers members an opportunity to advertise their jobs and services at discounted rates to a targeted audience. Online advertisements for unpaid and volunteer positions are free.
EU funding advice
- Members can subscribe to a specialist EU funding advice line that provides one-on-one support on applying and reporting to the European Commission's NGO co-financing budget line (21 02 03) and other budget lines.
