Health check
Health check

Our new organisational health check is an online self assessment to help identify an organisation's strengths and weaknesses.
Flexible and holistic
The health check can be adapted to meet the specific needs of an organisation – choose only what is relevant and whether a light touch or an in-depth approach is best.
Immediate, visual results
Scores are automatically calculated as the results are entered, generating revealing charts, graphs, and spidergrams of an organisation’s strengths and weaknesses.
Design
The health check has been designed with members, for members.
It's based on existing standards and principles within the international development sector to make sure that it is the best way to assess your organisation against all the areas relevant to being really effective.
A useful tool. It’s great to see this sort of thing within the sector.

Focus
The health check looks at the following pillars of effectiveness:
- Identity and integrity
- Leadership and strategy
- Partners
- Beneficiaries
- Programmes
- People
- Money
- External relations
- Monitoring, evaluation and learning
- Internal collaboration
- Influencing
Valuable insights
Internal reflection is key for gathering information for the health check. Afterwards, detailed discussion and analysis will follow the results.
Both of these are important ways to help organisations decide how to improve their effectiveness.
Furthermore, the health check results form a record by which organisations can monitor performance over time.
One-stop shop
The health check provides links to other tools and to different approaches for strengthening effectiveness.
It also provides access to initiatives that give support and information on effectiveness standards and principles.
