Private Sector Engagement Group

An exploratory meeting with Bond members took place in August 2011 in response to increased focus by DFID on private sector development as well as increased appetite and energy among NGOs to work more on private sector development as a policy issue.

NGOs acknowledged the need to work closer together and share experiences, research and messaging on private sector development, especially since different NGOs have different priorities and approaches to working with the private sector.

The Bond Private Sector Group was established in September 2011 to:

1.     Facilitate the exchange of information between and in preparation for face-to-face meetings.

2.     Facilitate the coordination of policy analysis and advocacy with other NGOs at the UK level.

3.     Facilitate learning and sharing about private sector practice and experience.

The group is open to UK civil society organisations, both Bond and non-Bond members. For more information about the Bond Private Sector Group and to join the group, please contact the Bond Membership Team.
