Microfinance Group
Following a meeting of the Small NGOs Group in April 2011 that focussed on the key aspects of microcredit and opportunities for income-generation and growth, the Bond secretariat invited other Bond members, specialist microfinance institutions and mainstream NGOs with established microfinance programmes, for a discussion.
Microfinance practitioners from CARE International, Christian Aid, Hand in Hand International, the Methodist Relief Development Fund, the MicroLoan Foundation and Opportunity International came together and agreed to meet twice a year to discuss industry trends, exchange best practice advice and share partnership opportunities from the unique perspective of charitable microfinance, microfinance with a social purpose.
