17 November MEP mass lobby
On 17 November 2009, Bond together with some of its UK partners will take part in a mass lobby of Members of the European Parliament (MEPs). Bond will do so together with national development NGOs and international development networks from other EU countries.
The mass lobby, which is organised by the pan-European confederation of development NGOs CONCORD, will consist of NGOs and civil society representatives from all over the EU meeting with a large number of MEPs from as many EU countries and political groups as possible to highlight civil society concerns regarding the EU's development co-operation policies and practices. The mass lobby will also mark the start of the close dialogue that European civil society will have with the MEPs over the coming five year parliamentary period.
Bond will address a series of issues with the MEPs, including the need for the EU to ensure that all of its policies are coherent with the aim of promoting development and eradicating poverty and inequality globally.
Bond members and UK partners wishing to participate in the mass lobby should contact Bond European Campaigns Officer Anders Dahlbeck.
