Introduction

Bond recently launched the Leaders Series, an exclusive space for directors and senior colleagues to share views on knotty problems faced by their organisations and the sector, to take part in discussion and hear different and challenging views of outsiders.  I hope that in providing a private space, NGO leaders can find new ways to work together to tackle some of these common issues.

Why are people with disabilities, for the most part, either ignored or seen as a distinct target group by development agencies?  Isn’t it about time that we all made a commitment to inclusion - in process, in decision-making and in programming?  World Vision provides a thought-provoking insight into the issue.

In the last issue of The Networker, Andy Sumner of IDS outlined research findings that showed a significant increase in the number of poor people living in middle-income countries.  Now he addresses the next question: how should NGOs respond?  Bond members CAFOD and Progressio add their opinion to the debate.

A new online advertising code is being introduced by the Advertising Standards Authority.  What does this mean for NGOs and how can they ensure they comply?  Bond member Advocates for International Development provides some answers.
