Bond groups

Influence, learn and reach out together with other development NGOs

five peopleGroups, a space where you can:

  • share and maximise expertise and best practice
  • influence governmental and institutional decision-making at national, European and global levels
  • formulate collective policy responses on key issues

Joining a Bond group is about strengthening your organisation’s outreach and knowledge and having direct influence on policy decisions which are difficult to access as a single organisation.

These member-led groups maximise the wider development sector’s impact on areas such as advocacy and lobbying and funding as well as specific themes - including on conflict, disability, disaster reduction, the environment, governance and water and sanitation - and regions (Europe, European neighbourhood, Latin America).

Through its online platform for groups, Bond also ensures that groups’ work is shared with, and accountable to, the wider membership.

Access key decision-makers

Thanks to Bond’s reputation and record of achievement with government departments and officials in the UK and with other European and international organisations, Bond groups give you direct access to decision-makers and the opportunity to influence the policies that affect the work of development NGOs here and overseas.

Increase your influence and outreach

Engagement in groups can significantly increase the influence of your organisation. Groups develop collective policy responses and make official submissions which are important for sector leadership and engagement. This means that individual organisations can engage in actions on issues of particular importance to them, but whose impact and solution are sector-wide.

Learn what other development NGOs are thinking and doing

Bond groups give you access to intelligence  and knowledge on a wide range of issues. Through personal insights, ideas, best practice examples, and research shared in common with expert individuals, groups will help you articulate and better position your own organisation’s work in specific areas of interest.

Engineer opportunities for collaboration

Above all, Bond groups are about networking. Contacts gained through the group and practical interactions will enhance your opportunities for joint collaboration and partnerships with organisations diverse in size and in the focus of their operations.

Connect with other civil society organisations

As a member of a group, you can also connect to expertise and knowledge from beyond the development sector. Bond groups work with a huge diversity of civil society organisations including environment groups, think tanks, academic institutions and others.

The members’ area

The members’ area is an online space which offers a flexible environment through which Bond groups can be formed, managed, communicated and engaged with. Group members can hold discussions and register for meetings online, as well as accessing documentation and resources. All group activity is delivered directly to your inbox through a regular email digest.

If you are a member of Bond please login or create a login to the Bond website to access the members' area.

Membership of a Bond group is only open to Bond members.  Find out more about Bond membership.
