Global Call to Action Against Poverty
The Global Call to Action Against Poverty (GCAP) is the world's biggest anti-poverty alliance.
It consists of over a hundred national coalitions made up of NGOs, faith groups, trade unions, student organisations and community groups working to tackle poverty and inequality in their countries and around the world.
Bond feeds in to the work of GCAP by representing the views of Bond groups, Global Economic Justice Networks and the Campaigning Coordination Team. Bond also works closely with the other Global Economic Justice Networks to decide on UK nominations for GCAP positions.
Bond keeps UK organisations informed about GCAP through the Global Call e-newsletter and introducing agenda items at meetings of the Global Economic Justice Networks and the Campaigning Co-ordination Team.
Mobilisations undertaken in the UK as part of GCAP include Make Poverty History (2005), The Global Month of Mobilisation (2006), The World Can't Wait (2007), 50 Global Days of Action Against Poverty (2008) and Stand Up and Take Action (2009).
