Disability and Development Group

One in five of the world's poor are also disabled.

The  Disability and Development Group (DDG) exist to support international NGOs and donors to work more effectively to include disabled people in their development work. The DDG derives its mandate from the 50+ UK-based international development organisations which constitute its membership.

…“ensuring that international co-operation, including international development programmes, is inclusive of and accessible to persons with disabilities.” Article 32 of the UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities

Our most recent initiative is a position paper Towards an Inclusive UK Development Policy designed to influence UK political parties in the build-up to the forthcoming General Election.
