Key areas of work are in civil society development, community development processes, democratisation initiatives. I have worked with a wide range of organisations, including the British Council; Westminster Foundation for Democracy; Welfare Association (UK and Palestine); Evaluation Trust; Traidcraft; Allavida; Community Foundaton Network (UK); ETP/Ekopolis (Slovakia); AED (Croatia). Current and recent international work inlcudes: Strategic consultant, Democratising Ukraine Small Projects Programme; Trainer training and strategic programme advisor, SKIP programme for improving co-operation between NGOs and public sector, Turkey; evaluation of Standards and Codes of Ethics programme for local government, Serbia; scoping and curriculum design, civil society component of Parliamentary strengthening programme, Ukraine; scoping missions and strategic reports on civil society and the local political, social and economic environments in Ukraine (specific report for Crimea), Georgia, Bulgaria, Turkey; history of Charity Know-How/Allavida (to be published May 2009); evaluation of grants programme , focussed on relationships between civil society and governmental institutions (Ukraine); Community Education Development Programme review and redesign, for World Bank KDP programme, Indonesia. I am an approved NCVO consultant; a member of the Institute of Fundraising; and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
