Background: joint EU-Africa Strategy
On 8-9 December 2007, African and European Heads of Governments met in Lisbon and adopted the joint EU-Africa strategy.
In the crucial week of negotiations of the joint EU-Africa strategy, Bond launched the African Voices publication collecting the voices of civil society organisations from all regions of sub-Saharan Africa and from the African Diaspora in the UK on Africa-Europe relations.
Bond thinks that those people whose life is affected by European Union (EU) and African Union (AU) policy decision should have a say in the process if the strategy has to have a positive impact on poverty eradication and the fulfilment of human rights.
African Voices
African Voices gathers the opinions of civil society organisations from all regions of sub-Saharan Africa and the African diaspora in the UK on Africa-Europe relations. The publication is available in English, French and Portuguese.
