World Poverty Day announcement
1 April 2010
The three main political parties have agreed to address world poverty issues on 18 April, the third Sunday before Election Day.
World Poverty Day was conceived in 2005, when each political party leader profiled their international development policies.
Bond secured party political agreement for the 2010 day at the Bond Annual Conference.
On the day itself, Bond members will:
- Organise actions and events and upload them to the Vote Global website
- Raise the profile of our issues with local and national media
- Tweet with the #Voteglobal hashtag
UK NGOs are active throughout the election campaign and particularly in the lead up to and around World Poverty Day, engaging supporters and the wider public for the cause of international development.
