African Development Trust

ADT was founded in 2004, formed by group of like-minded independent, who wanted to work together internationally to achieve greater impact in reducing poverty by their collective efforts. The name comes from the ethnic background of the founders.

ADT is working to become a main provider to needy Africans. We are aiming to excel, finding ways of work and structures appropriate to the global need in a complex knit world. Our strategy is to improve the lives of needy people by mobilizing the power of humanity. We aim to provide comfort to the poor needy ill/sick children and widows and those suffering; to relieve the need hardship and distress of persons whose relatives or friends died or are missing or detained; to provide protection and promote good health, both mental and physical; to promote the advancement of education.

As a new charity, our main funding comes from individual donors and we also carry out fundraising activities. The charity’s number of staff within and outside the UK is; 17 in total. Staff within the UK is 5 in number whereas staff outside the UK is 12 in total, making the total number of 17 staff.
