Aimed at: Those who are new to advocacy and campaigning or who are looking for an overview of best practice in the area.

Course information

Effective advocacy planning draws on a specific set of skills and techniques, demanding a clear understanding of the advocacy process and issues such as legitimacy, accountability and impact. Poorly conceived advocacy programmes can be ineffective or even counter-productive. This introductory workshop will explore the reasons for and against engaging in advocacy projects and the different approaches that your organisation can take.

• Appreciate the importance of ensuring legitimacy and accountability
• Recognise the different approaches to advocacy and influencing change
