EC Funding
EC development aid comes from two distinct sources. The annual EC Budget (the Community Budget) which covers cooperation with developing countries in all geographic regions and countries with economies in transition, and the European Development Fund (EDF) which covers co-operation with ACP (African, Carribean and Pacific) countries under the Cotonou agreement.
The main point of access to EU Funding for NGOs is through the Community Budget. NGOs do have some access to the EDF, but it is mainly reserved for governments. BOND therefore focusses most of its information services and training on Community Budget aid programmes.
