Global Economic Justice Networks
Since 2006 campaigning is no longer carried out under a central umbrella campaign called MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY. Instead, a number of networks and coalitions form the heart of campaigning on economic justice, and representatives from each of these meet regularly in a 'network of networks' to coordinate support for ongoing campaigns. All these organisations are democratically accountable to their members.
Each central issue is led by a specialist coalition, like during MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY. Organisations are encouraged to join one or more of the issue-based coalitions. Alongside the specialist coalitions, the Trades Union Congress will continue to help trade unions stay involved, and BOND will ensure that organisations that are not members of each of the coalitions can go on being active.
